Harold "Lefty" Williams, born and raised in Jersey City, NJ is no stranger to sacrifice or hard work. It was at a young age two loves began to grow in Harold: his love for basketball and his love for the Lord. These loves taught him early that in order to get what was divinely meant for him, he had to be obedient and follow God’s will.
Facing many obstacles in his life, there were two major events that have helped in strengthening Lefty’s faith. His younger brother's suffering with seizures so severe that they put him into a coma for a couple of days, and his mother being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Holding on to the promises of God’s word, Lefty believed that God would take care of them both. Both his brother and mother are still here, more than 13 years later, and in good health!
Lefty's life has been a testimony of God's greatness. It has included: a high school career highlight of scoring of his 1000th point, after only playing with his varsity team for three years (an accomplishment not achieved by any other); Him going from two division 3 basketball teams, where he earned defensive player of the year for both, to signing a professional contract with two show teams, The Harlem Ambassadors and the world famous Harlem Globetrotters (which is where he made history being the 1st left handed showman, earning the name "Lefty"); him having the opportunity to travel to more than 23 countries around the world; Being featured in an article on ESPN.com, the world's largest sports network; His appearance on TBN's Praise the Lord with Pastor Paula White; and more recently, including his travels as a motivational speaker and gospel recording artist.
