John Skelton served as Fordham’s team captain for the second straight year and was named one of the top 12 senior quarterback prospects by NFL.com. Also named Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by the Consensus Draft Services for the second consecutive year... capped spring season by completing 13 of 24 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown in the 2009 Spring Game. He became the school's all-time leading passer with 6,215 career passing yards last fall and should become the all-time leader in completions and touchdown passes this fall. He also set the Fordham career total offense mark with 6,658 total yards... has the fifth best completion percentage in school history. John has 16 career 200-yard passing games and three 300-yard games... threw at least one touchdown pass in 20 of the 23 games over the past two years and ranked second in the Patriot League in passing yards/game and total offense in 2008. John had a solid first full year as the starting quarterback in 2007. He was named 2007 Second Team All-Patriot League and threw 22 touchdown passes, the third best single season total in Fordham history, as a sophomore. John threw for over 200 yards in seven games in 2007 and for over 300 yards in two games and ranked second in the Patriot League in passing yards per game and total offense and 21st in the NCAA FCS in total offense. He took over the starting job in the fifth game of the 2006 season, starting the final seven games and first freshman starter at quarterback at Fordham since 2000 and named Patriot League Rookie of the Week once in 2006 and threw two touchdown passes in the 2007 Spring Game. His brother, Stephen, is a junior tight end on the squad.
