Tommy West was born on July 31, 1954, in Carrollton, Georgia and is the current Head Coach of Football at the University of Memphis. He also served as the head coach for Clemson University. He is married to the former Lindsay Watkins. The couple has one son, Turner, who plays wide receiver for the Tigers.
West attended Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia and was a student and a letterman in football, basketball, and baseball. In football, he was an All-American selection. Tommy West graduated from Gainesville High School in 1972.
