Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was home on Saturday June 18th to host his annual football camp in Savannah, Georgia. Unfortunately there was a lot of rain on the day of the event, so turnout wasn’t as high as it had been in the past. However, that didn’t hold Peterson back from showing the kids a thing or two on how to work on their football skills that he’s learned in the NFL. After two hours on the field, all of the kids got an opportunity to get the Viking’s autograph and take lots of pictures with their idol. This camp is one of Peterson’s favorite things, so it’s great that he puts time aside to do this each year.
The six-time Pro Bowl player was born and raised in Palestine, Texas and is the son of two great college athletes. Peterson was a stand out player in track, basketball, and football during his high school years and ended up taking his talent to play football for the University of Oklahoma. He entered in the 2007 NFL draft and was selected as the 7th overall pick by Minnesota Vikings, with whom he still plays with today. Since his entrance into the NFL he has made a star name for himself with a large number of accomplishments and rankings in just the last 8 years.
Peterson went back to the south this summer to host a football camp for kids in the Savannah, GA area and made the day for a lot of youngsters who live in the area.
