Boxer Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini will be in Chicago Sunday, Sept. 30 for book signing party at 6 p.m. at the at the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame.
The book, “The Good Son: The Ray Mancini Story,” is Mancini’s life story told as a documentary and based on the book “The Good Son: The Life of Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini,” written by best-selling author Mark Kriegel.
The former lightweight champion retired officially in 1992, leaving a record of 29–5, with 23 knockouts. Mancini has an especially inspiring story that includes a legacy involving a young champion who had won the title as much for his family as for himself.
