The Brooklyn Nets’ second-year guard MarShon Brooks will be going to Russia next month as part of the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program, to help run a weeklong camp for 50 top teenaged European prospects. Brooks leaves Sept. 11 for Moscow and will be joining San Antonio’s Danny Green, as well as Andrei Kirilenko of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Timofey Mozgov, of the Denver Nuggets at the camp. The 6-5 guard has been hard at work this summer, training at the Nets’ practice facility in East Rutherford, as well as in Cleveland and his hometown of Atlanta. Brooks’ second NBA season begins Nov. 1 with the Nets’ inaugural game in Brooklyn against the crosstown rival Knicks.

Fellow NBA Guard Danny Green is no stranger to international basketball, as he played for Union Olimpija in Slovenia during the lockout last summer before earning a starting spot with the Spurs in the regular season and into the playoffs. Aside from getting a chance to rest easy with his contract signed, Green has spent his summer working out as well as traveling to Vegas to support the Summer League team.

Look for these NBA Stars to continue to breakdown the borders and establish themselves internationally. This international presence seems to be the theme is summer as we recently blogged about Majic Dorsey, a Former And1 Star, sign a major contract with an international team. Look for other major stars to potentially dabble in the international market.
