The six-time Pro Bowl player entered the 2007 NFL Draft and was selected as the first overall pick by the Detroit Lions, with whom he stayed with for his entire professional football career of nine years. Even though he announced his retirement prior to the 2016 fall season, he leaves the league with several honors and NFL records, some exclusively with the Lions franchise.
Johnson announced his retirement from the Detroit Lions and the NFL this month, and while it is sad to see him depart, fans will always remember him as one of the league’s greats.
