Adam Greenberg AppearanceTonight, former Chicago Cubs’ player Adam Greenberg gets his second chance Tuesday evening with the Miami  Marlins.

Greenberg’s story has gotten a lot of publicity since last Thursday when the Marlins announced his one-day contract. Over seven years ago back on July 9, 2005, Greenberg was a rookie with the Chicago Cubs and stepped up to the plate for his first major league at bat against Marlins pitcher Valerio de los Santos. The pitch was a 92-mile-per-hour fastball that exploded into the right side of Greenberg’s head causing significant vertigo and vision problems as the result of the concussion.

Now after the 31-year-old’s major league career began and seemed to be over after just one pitch, the outfielder gets his chance tonight against the New York Mets thanks to the Marlins and a long-shot national campaign initiated by an imaginative fan on a lark.

Greenberg appeared on the “Today Show” last week where the announcement was made and said, “I’m ready,” as he held back tears when David Samson, general manager of the last-place Marlins, offered him a one-day contract.

On Wednesday night, September 5, legendary former Los Angeles Lakers star Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson paid a visit to Jay Leno making an appearance on “The Tonight Show.”

The five-time NBA Champion talked about everything from his former team and the positive impact he thought adding Dwight Howard would have to his enjoyment of grandchildren, except for the smell of a dirty diaper.

Johnson also talked about his new “Magic Card” – created in hopes of helping people who could never imagine having a credit card, allowing customers who don’t have a bank account to enjoy the convenience of paying their bills and making purchases online.

As one of the most well-known names in the history of basketball, any product or service aligned with the great athlete is sure to be talked about, and “Magic Mojo” as he calls the savings program attached with the card, is likely to be a bit hit just as its namesake.

During his induction speech he said, “Anything you want in life you can get through sacks. money, life, fame, women. He recalled his father’s mantra: “If dad signed you up for something, you had to finish it.” That’s how Chris played the game of football.

Doleman played most of his career with the Vikings and ranked fourth on the NFL’s all-time list with 150 1/2 sacks at the time of his retirement. He played 232 games in 15 seasons, also spending time with Atlanta and San Francisco.

What Doleman achieved through his career was eight Pro Bowl elections and three first-team All-Pro choices. He recorded 21 sacks in the 1989 season, and that was a single-season Vikings record until Jared Allen had 22 in 2011.
