Kyrie Irving Speaking FeeEarlier this month it was announced that NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving will be partnering with headphone and earbud company Skullcandy. The endorsement with Skullcandy will give Irving a little more input than normal endorsements by having Irving give his own personal touch on the company’s products and his own personal line of products.

Kyrie Irving is a Melbourne, Victoria, Australia native whose dream of playing in the NBA started after a fourth grade trip to Continental Airlines Arena. After a highly illustrious high school career, Irving committed to play for Duke in 2009. Through the first eight games of the season in 2011, Irving was averaging over 17 points a game, five assists, four rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game. However in the ninth game of their season Irving suffered a severe ligament injury on his big toe and didn’t play another game for Duke until the beginning of the NCAA tournament where he scored 28 points in the sweet sixteen game against Arizona. Following his only season at the University of Duke, Irving was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Irving finished his rookie season with the Cavs averaging over 18 points a game and the rookie of the year award. The following season Irving was selected to his first All-Star game and became the youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points at Madison Square Garden. After his second straight all-star appearance, Irving was joined by Lebron James and Kevin Love to form a big three who actually started the season slow with a 5-7 record but ultimately went on to the NBA Finals their first year together. Irving was subsequently injured in the first game of the Finals and with missing Irving, the Cavaliers ultimately lost the series to the Golden State Warriors. Irving ended up missing the beginning of the 2015 season due to the fractured kneecap he suffered in the Finals the previous year but since his return Irving has assisted the Cavs in finishing the year with the number one seed in the Eastern Conference as the Cavs look to rebound and take home the NBA title this season.

Earlier this month it was announced that NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving will partner with Skullcandy by helping the company start a personal line for Irving while also taking his input in their other products as well. The marriage of the two should turn out to be successful due in large part to Irving’s creativity and touch on todays in styles and trends.

Booking Landon DonovanIt was announced this last week that Heineken’s new campaign, Soccer is Here, will feature two of the biggest United States soccer stars in Landon Donovan and Carli Lloyd. The yearlong campaign will highlight the rich history of soccer in the US and will attempt to raise excitement about the future of soccer in the US. Heineken has been a huge part of soccer over the years in both the United States and worldwide and will help take the game to new heights.

Landon Donovan is a native of Ontario, California who began playing in his first organized soccer league at the age of seven and scored six goals in his first game in that league. At the age of 15, Donovan was accepted into the U.S. Youth Soccer’s Olympic Development Program. At only the age of 17, Donovan signed his first contract to play for the German club, Bayer Leverkusen, and struggled adapting to the German culture but after being designated to the MLS team San Jose Earthquakes he had immediate success. In 2005 he returned to Germany and stated his desire to return to the MLS after leading the Earthquakes to the MLS Cup title and becoming one of the only recognizable faces in the league. Since the Earthquakes traded away Donovan’s rights, his hometown team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, were able to acquire the MLS star where he would stay for the rest of his 14 year MLS career. His first season with the Galaxy ended with another MLS cup for Donovan. In 2009, Donovan had a banner year in which he won the MVP of the MLS and formed a dynamic duo with English superstar David Beckham. Two years later in 2011, the Galaxy would win another MLS Cup and with the cup win it gave Donovan an amazing four in his somewhat short career. The following year, Donovan again came up in the clutch to give the Galaxy yet another MLS Cup victory in a win over Houston. In Donovan’s international career he made over 150 appearances and scored over 50 goals in helping the American’s win multiple international games.

Carli Lloyd Guest AppearanceCarli Lloyd is a Delran Township, New Jersey native who began playing soccer at age five. After her high school career at Delran High School Lloyd went on to play soccer at Rutgers University. During her time with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights she was named to the First-Team All-Big East for all four years and ended her career as the all-time leader in points, goals, and shot attempts. After a forgetful season for the Chicago Red Stars in 2008, Lloyd left to play for her home state club, the Sky Blue FC. After breaking her ankle against her former team, Lloyd missed practically the entire season and was declared a free agent after her lone season for the Sky Blue FC. The following season Lloyd signed with the expansion team the Atlanta Beat and with her new signing had a coach who thought very fondly of her stating “She is a fantastic midfielder and someone who is fully focused on the game.” Lloyd made her first appearance on the Women’s National Team in 2005 and scored her first national goal a year later. In 2007, Lloyd helped the National team place third in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup and started in three of the five games they played in the tournament. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics Lloyd scored two goals, one of which came in the gold medal final against Brazil and was named soccer athlete of the year along with Tim Howard. In the 2011 World Cup, Lloyd was able to score her first goal in a World Cup game and the national team finished with a silver medal after losing in the final to Japan. The following year Lloyd scored both goals in the London Olympic gold medal match against Japan in which they won. This past year in the 2015 World Cup games in Canada, it all came together for Lloyd when she went on a four game goal scoring streak that culminated in the final when she scored a hat trick in the first 16 minutes of the final against, once again, Japan. Lloyd would be named the best player of the World Cup with the Golden Ball and was the first since Geoff Hurst to score a hat trick in a World Cup game.

This past week it was announced that Carli Lloyd and Landon Donovan will be featured in the new Heineken campaign, Soccer is Here. The campaign will highlight the rich history of soccer in the United States and will once again show the support Heineken has shown to both American soccer and worldwide soccer as a whole. The marriage between the three parties should prove to be very successful if not only because the stardom Lloyd and Donovan own due to their international play for the United States.

Meb Keflezighi Speaking FeeMeb Keflezighi has recently announced that he will be extending his contract with Skechers Performance to remain as one of their brand ambassadors. The world-class marathoner is the official footwear and apparel representative and has been featured in several marketing campaigns, and the company is going to further involve him in footwear introductions. Since 2011, Skechers Performance has come out with lots of successful running shoes that were designed with the background of being modeled “for athletes, by athletes”. This all got started with the GOrun shoe, which Meb has been the face for all these years and has helped pump up sales. With the 2016 Olympics coming up, Meb will be participating in trials with his Sketcher shoes and hopefully land a spot on Team USA.

The San Diego, California resident is one of ten children in his family, and they came to the United States via Italy in 1987 as refugees. Keflezighi began running while he attended Memorial Academy in San Diego where he ran a stunning 5:10 mile and eventually went on to win the 1600 meters and 3200 meters races at the CIF California State Championships in 1994 for his high school. He officially became an American citizen in 1998 which also happened to be when he graduated college from UCLA, where he won four NCAA championships. In the Summer Olympics 2004, Keflezighi brought home the silver medal for the men’s marathon event.

Ashton Eaton Speaking FeeAmerican gold medalist, Ashton Eaton, has signed an endorsement deal with Proctor and Gamble’s Gillette this past week. Gillette joins Coca-Cola and Visa in tying themselves with the Olympian Eaton.

Ashton Eaton is a Portland, Oregon native that was a five time NCAA champion while competing for the University of Oregon. During Eaton’s freshman season he showed amazing improvement and was one of only three freshman to qualify for the combined events in both indoors and outdoors. He then placed third in the USA Junior Championships Decathlon which earned him a trip to Brazil for the 2007 Pan American Junior Championships. The following year Eaton continued to improve by winning the decathlon at the NCAA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He defended that title in 2009 and also went on to win the heptathlon title at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Championships and then took home the Division I field athlete of the year. In 2010, Eaton repeated and also set the world record for decathlon with 6,499 breaking Dan O’Brien’s 17 year old record. In winning his third National Title, Eaton became the first male to ever win the NCAA decathlon in three straight years. In 2012, Eaton went on to the Olympics in London to compete with his biggest competition being his teammate Trey Hardee. With day one ending with a virtual tie between the two, day two was Eaton’s. Eaton won the gold medal and looks to be a favorite in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games.

Allyson Felix AppearanceIt was announced this past week that American gold medalist, Allyson Felix, has signed a personal endorsement deal with Chobani Yogurt ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The yogurt company will hope that their partner will once again take home some more gold medals during this year’s Olympics.

Allyson Felix is a Los Angeles, California native and in high school amazingly dead lifted 270 pounds. In 2003, Felix was named the High School Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News and the next year she Mexico City, Felix ran the 200 meter in a blazing 22.11 seconds, the fastest in the history for a high school girl. After high school, Felix signed with Adidas deciding to forgo a track career in college but Felix has since graduated with a degree in elementary education from the University of Southern California. At just 18 Felix participated in the 2004 Athens Olympics and won the silver while also setting a World junior record with a time of 22.18 in the 200 meter. The following year, Felix became the youngest gold medalist ever in the World Championships in Helsinki and then repeated two years later in Osaka. In 2008, Felix again won the silver medal in the 200 meter but did help the American team take home the gold medal in the 4×100 meter relay in Beijing. Four years later at the 2012 Olympics in London, Felix did not disappoint by winning the gold in three different events. Felix and her teammates took home the gold’s in both the 4×100 meter relay and the 4×400 meter relay and she won the gold in the 200 meter. Since the 2012 Olympics, Felix has won enough World medals to give her the most World gold medals and most total World medals ever by an American.

In 2003, Wie became the youngest player ever to make an LPGA cut at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and later that year she also made the cut at the US Women’s Open when she was just 13, still the youngest to do so. Wie played her first LPGA event as a professional was the 2005 LPGA Samsung World Championship in which she placed third but was eliminated due to an incorrect score card. Wie’s 2006 has been well documented due to her playing in multiple PGA events which began at the PGA Tour Sony Open. The following eight years had many Wie victories and also a number of injuries but in 2014 it all came together for Wie in a LPGA major when she won the U.S. Women’s Open.

Travis_PastranaTravis Pastrana has signed an exclusive sponsorship deal with Nitro Circus, the touring stunt and entertainment show he created 13 years ago. Under this deal, the 32-year-old American will sport the Nitro Circus logo on his headwear and apparel during all events and public appearances. These will replace the ten-year-old positions filled by Red Bull.

The new agreement comes with Nitro Circus preparing to launch a new consumer products range. This will include headwear and apparel lines as part of it’s efforts to grow its licensing program. Adrian Peterson AppearanceMinnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has inked an endorsement deal for EpiPen, the makers of a portable medical device for treating serious allergic reactions. The 2012 NFL MVP is “appreciative of the product” because he had it used on himself just last year.

Last summer Peterson had a severe allergic reaction to seafood after eating jambalaya that was served in the team’s training camp cafeteria. He experienced shortness of breath and swelling in his face. The Vikings‘ trainer stuck him with the EpiPen to improve his breathing, before sending him to the hospital.

Ryan Newman Endorsement DealSprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman has signed a one-year endorsement deal to promote Procter & Gamble’s Oral-B dental brand.

According to Sports Business Daily, the brand’s logo will be featured on Newman’s helmet throughout the remainder of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. It will also use the driver of car No. 39 in support of a marketing campaign designed to raise awareness that its toothbrushes are made in the U.S.A. Newman will also make appearances for the brand at four races this year: Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte; the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona; the AdvoCare 500 in Atlanta; and the AdvoCare 500 in Phoenix.

Oral-B Communications Manager Kris Parlett remarked of the deal, “We wanted a spokesperson in the sport of NASCAR with multiple qualities. We want this person to be respected, clean, as far as a good record, and someone who conveys the American spirit, the Americana. The more you dig into what Ryan does on the track and off the track, the more you find he’s a family man. He was a great fit to represent our brand.”
