Sports Illustrated writer and CBS Sports Analyst Seth Davis is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Hamilton Center for the 44th annual awards dinner. The event will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. and will also have an exhibition of poetry, art, and creating writing pieces that were written by members of the Hamilton Center from all 10 locations in the area. Every entry into the contest will be on display and the winners from each category will also be invited to attend. The main theme of this year’s dinner will b e “Light the Way”, in which participants are asked to express their thoughts and feelings on mental health. Davis will be a great addition to the function, as he is bound to give a very inspiring and motivational talk on the subject.
The Connecticut-born sports expert graduated with a degree in political science from Duke University in 1992, where he was a sports columnist for the daily campus newspaper and also a host of a sports related television show on Cable 13. By 1995 he was already writing for Sports Illustrated, but during the years leading up to it he was working and creating works for The New Haven Register. In addition to that, in 2003 he published a book titled “Equinunk, Tell Your Story: My Return to Summer Camp” which highlighted his experiences as a summer camp counselor.
Davis will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Hamilton Center annual dinner that will have the theme of mental health, so hopefully his talk will find a way to uplift the mood and bring a little joy to the audience.
