CBS Sports correspondent James Brown spoke at the Bennett College last month to give a discussion on the evening’s theme of “The Future of Media”, where ideas were explored as to how the world changed with all the technology out there now and how it impacted the sports world. This was a real treat for the campus to have Brown show up at the school like this, and he appeared to be having a great time interacting with the audience and even telling them what his NCAA basketball brackets looked like.
Brown is a worldly recognized sports host for the CBS shows “The NFL Today” and “Thursday Night Football”, which get viewed by hundreds of thousands each year during the football season. The sports anchor was picked to be on a panel of people to not only give a talk, but to answer any questions from the guest list as well. Brown was able to get a lot of information out there about sports and how he managed to get himself the position he is in at the moment.
The sports television personality had a lot to say about his experience working with the media and how that intertwined with the athletics back then. These days, technology obviously has a much bigger role in just about every culture around the globe, so in some ways the focus on the talk had a lot of evidence to back it up. After all, the media is one of the best and often free marketing tools out there.
