Chicago Cubs star rookie Kyle Schwarber is about to get a foot in the door in the marketing world as he has struck a deal with the Buffalo, New York-based company New Era Cap Company. The business is the manufacturer of the official on-field hats of the MLB and they are ecstatic to sign on the rookie 22 year old. New Era’s director Tony DeSimone made a statement that the company is excited to have Schwarber be a part of their team, as he is doing really well in his career now and would appeal to the younger crowd of cap wearers. The campaign will start this year and run through 2017, so there is a good chance that the baseball player will be publically recognized more often in the coming months.
The Middletown, Ohio native attended Indiana University where he played baseball starting his freshman year and was even named an All-American player during that time. By the time he was a sophomore, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association made him a first-team All-American player and things just got better from there. Schwarber was selected in the 2014 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs, and started out on the minor team for his first year but was promoted to the majors in June 2015.
Schwarber has gotten noticed by some of the big name brands out there and has asked to be an ambassador for New Era Cap Company, which means he is now officially settled into his new home in the pros.
