Kansas City Chiefs defensive stars Dontari Poe and Allen Bailey are quite the duo on the gridiron. When Poe lines up at nose tackle and Bailey is holding down defensive end opposing offenses are typically scrambling to find out how to move the ball and not get hit too hard while attempting to do so.
Recently the two teammates joined Pro Football Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz to host an NFL Play 60 character camp for youth in the Kansas City area at the Chiefs practice facility. The camp was held to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, and its mission was to make a positive impact on youth through teaching football skills, emphasizing exercise and reinforcing the importance of character in athletics and life.
“Ordinarily, we’re playing with grown men, so it’s fun seeing a kid smile, see them laugh,” Bailey said. “It’s a nice breather from the busy daily schedule we have from 8:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon.”
Poe joined the Chiefs in 2012 and was a Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection in 2013 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Bailey has been a stopper for the Chiefs defense since 2011 and is a force on the outside. Together these two are a wrecking crew on the field, and a helpful and caring duo off the field.
