Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith hosted a youth football clinic this summer in Overland Park, Kansas on June 3rd and 4th at the Shawnee Mission West High School. During their experience, the young athletes got an opportunity to work on their essential football skills while getting to socialize and make new friends in the process. In addition to that, each kid that participated in the camp was award with a group team photo, a camp t-shirt, and an official autograph from Smith.
The La Mesa, California native was first noticed as a star player during his high school years and even led his team to have a almost perfect season of 25-1. During his senior year he worked with a program through San Diego State University to earn some college credits and to get ahead of his class prior to entering college. He ended up attending the University of Utah, which led him to entering the 2005 NFL Draft where he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the first overall pick. He stayed with the Niners for seven seasons before getting traded to the Kansas City Chiefs where he still is today.
Smith hosted a kids football clinic in Overland Park earlier this month and it was a huge hit with the local kids. They had a chance to play a game they love and were able to come home with a Alex Smith autograph, campers’ t-shirt and a group photo of themselves with all their new friends.
