ESPN analyst Chris Spielman has been scheduled to speak at Landmark’s Gridiron Kickoff on August 2nd in Montgomery, Alabama. The event is due to be held at the church’s LIFEcenter and is designed to be only for men. Tickets to get into the event cost $15, and even though the food lines for the barbeque meal will open up at 5 p.m. the actual event won’t begin until 6 p.m.. No one knows exactly what Spielman is going to speak about yet, however almost everyone can count on hearing a very motivational talk.
The Canton, Ohio native started playing football during his high school years, and he was even awarded the Dial Award for the national high school scholar athlete of the year in 1983. He went on to attend Ohio State University, and after that entered the 1988 NFL Draft where he was selected in the second round as the 29th overall pick by the Detroit Lions. He stayed with the team for seven years before going to Buffalo to join the Bills for one year after that, and eventually hung up his cleats for good in 1999. These days he works as an analyst for ESPN, and he also did one year of coaching for the Columbus Destroyers, an AFL team.
Spielman is set to give a speech at this year’s event hosted by the Landmark Church in Montgomery, Alabama later on this summer. Tickets to get in are on sale for just $15, but as a reminder, you have to be a man to get in!
