Jerry JonesCowboys Owner Jerry Jones spoke on March 30th at the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner. This will be the 102nd dinner of its kind and will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour that’s followed by a dinner and the program. Tickets to get into the event are $100 per person, and tables of eight are available to reserve. Last year this sold out event brought in over 1,000 people, and this year is expected to be another sellout with Jones on board. In addition to that, support from 25 major corporate sponsors are expected to participate to make the dinner a much more fruitful venture.

The Inglewood, California native and his family moved to Arkansas when he was a boy and ended up going to high school there were he was a running back on their football team. He attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas and continued playing football, however that came to a halt after he left the university. Jones attempted to start a few different business that were ultimately unsuccessful, but eventually created his oil and gas exploration business that proved to be very prosperous. In 1989, Jones purchased the Dallas Cowboys for $140 million dollars and eventually fired the general manager so that he could take over that role. He has won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys as the owner,president, and GM of the team and was also named the 2014 NFL Executive of the Year.
