Former NCAA coach Dale Brown recently made an appearance at the Carl Grant Center on the campus of Union University to be a speaker for an event. Dinner was also served, and individual tickets to get in cost $50 per person, or $800 for a table of eight. For those who just wanted to hear the speech there was an entry fee of $20, and those who decided to make it to at least that part felt it was well worth it. Brown is expected to give yet another fantastic motivational speech to the audience as he has been traveling and doing a lot of that lately with very positive feedback.
The Minot, North Dakota native was noticeably a star athlete at his high school as he participated in football, basketball and track as well. He ended up taking his sports talents with him to college at Minot State Teacher’s College where he continued to thrive in these sports and earned 12 varsity letters, which he is the only person who has ever been able to do that for multiple events. He was honored to be named one of Sports Illustrated’s Top 50 Athletes from North Dakota, but instead of playing professionally he went the coaching route. From 1965 through 1997, Brown coached for Palm Springs HS, Utah State, Washington State, and LSU.
Brown was well received at the dinner event that took place at the Carl Grant Center on the campus of Union University recently, and was able to motivate many people with his words of wisdom.
