Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo was honored with two awards at the team’s 19th annual Kickoff Luncheon last week, with the event also benefiting a great charity.

The team has supported Cowboys Courage House, located at Happy Hill Farm Academy, for over 25 years. The private school’s purpose is to equip motivated students with the knowledge and skills for success.

The popular quarterback took home both the Ed Block Courage Award, which he received for returning to the game after a rib injury and helping to lead the Cowboys to an overtime win, and the 2011 Offensive MVP Award for finishing the season with 4,184 yards passing to record his third career 4,000-yard season.

For this event, it was noted that Romo did not wear his standard attire that typically includes a backwards act. This time he was all decked out in a suit, maybe as a little extra special touch in the hopes that it will give him an edge this coming season?

At the luncheon Romo stated, “Our football team, we’re building something special, I can promise you that. You’re going to be proud to root for the Dallas Cowboys. I know I’m proud to be on this football team.”

The new father of son Hawkins Crawford Romo, certainly knows how to make an impression.
