Legendary NBA star Dennis Rodman traveled all the way to Pyongyang in North Korea to take part in basketball exhibitions as part of a news show on the country that will air on HBO later this year, and possibly an audience with the nation’s leader, Kim Jong-un, who is said to have been a big fan of the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, when Rodman won three championships with the club.
Rodman is visiting with three Harlem Globetrotters and as the group landed the Bulls‘ legend remarked, “We got invited and we just came over to have some fun. Hopefully, everything will be O.K. and the kids will have a good time with the games.”
The country is under a brutal dictatorship and this visit comes at a particularly tense time in U.S.-North Korean diplomacy.
