Ed “Too Tall” Jones played 15 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys from 1974 to 1989 and was a three-time Pro Bowl and three time NFL All-Pro selection at defensive end. In 1978 he helped the Dallas Cowboys to a win in Super Bowl XI, and was known for being a part of the Cowboys “Doomsday Defense” that dominated their opponents. In 1989 he was awarded the Ed Block Courage Award for his dedication to leadership, team and community.

By all accounts, Pudge Rodriguez is the greatest catcher in the history of baseball. During 21 years in the big leagues he was a 14-time All-Star, captured 13 Gold Glove Awards, 7 Silver Slugger Awards, and led the Marlins to a World Series championship in 2003. In 1999 Rodriguez, known as “Pudge” by anyone who watched him play, was named American League MVP after hitting .332, hitting 35 home runs, driving in 113 runs and scoring 116 runs. It is considered one of the best seasons ever by a catcher.

In addition to holding the major league career record for games caught by a catcher, Pudge also holds the record for career caught stealing percentage, throwing out 45.68% of runners trying to take an extra base on a pitch.
