CEO of ESPN Bill Rasmussen was inducted into the Cynopsis Sports Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 23 during a ceremony at the New York Athletic Club. The event itself will be called the 5th Annual Cynopsis Business Summit and is going to induct three other notable sports industry trailblazers in addition to Rasmussen. It’s going to be a fun event for everyone who gets to attend, as well as a memorable one for this year’s additions and their families.
The Massachusetts native began his career in media in 1963 at a job with the station WTTT, and then spent eight years as the Sports Director and two years as the News Director for the WWLP-TV and WHYN-TV stations in Springfield. He is known around the world as the “Father of Cable Sports” due to the fact that he launched the world’s first 24 hour cable network that we all know to be ESPN. These days Rasmussen spends his time giving motivational speeches to corporations and educational institutions to talk about innovation and growing in the business world.
Rasmussen was honored to be inducted into the Cynopsis Sports Business Hall of Fame earlier this month, and it’s safe to say that no one would dispute his qualifications for getting in.
