Former University of Texas at El Paso football coach Mike Price has been selected to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Athletic Hall of Fame induction dinner at the Everett Community College. He will be there to speak to the audience and honor his father who served as the head coach at Everett Community College for many years. In addition to that, there will be five athletes, one coach and two teams that will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. The event will take place on June 3 and the dinner will start at 6 p.m. at the EvCC Fitness Center on Tower Street. Tickets cost $50 per adult person and $25 for youth, and reservations are required to attend.
Price spent 43 years coaching in his career for various schools such as Washington State, Puget Sound, Missouri, Weber State and UTEP between the years of 1969-2012. Before that he was also a player for Everett Community College where his father worked, and he played the position of quarterback and defensive back. Aside from his two Pac-10 championships, Price also won five separate coaching awards in 1997 including the Home Depot Coach of the Year Award.
The retired coach will be showing back up in his home town of Everett this June to be a part of the Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony. It is bound to be an interesting speech and a delicious dinner.
