Former NBA player and ESPN basketball analyst Jalen Rose helped with the hosting of the Champion Day fashion show that occured on October 9 at the HanesBrands headquarters in Winston-Salem. He was there to help introduce some brand new clothes to over 200 HandsBrands company employees, and it was a very special day for both Rose and the people who were there. The Champion brand fashion show ended up being a lot of fun as there were food trucks, live music, and several discounted shopping opportunities for people to get some more of their sports attire. Rose himself claimed to be a big fan of Champion as he owns a lot of their line, and the company’s amazing reputation helped others get into them too. They are accredited with inventing the sports bra, reversible T-shirts, reversible hooded sweatshirts and even cotton football practice jerseys.
The Detroit native played basketball for the University of Michigan between the years of 1991 and 1994, and when he entered the 1994 NBA draft he was selected by the Denver Nuggets. He ended up staying with the Nuggets for two years before going to the Indiana Pacers for six, and also played for the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Phoenix Suns before his retirement in 2007. These days, Rose works as a sports analyst with ABC and ESPN and is the official ambassador and spokesman for the NBA Retired Players Association.
Rose attended this year’s Champion Day fashion show and helped celebrate the brand and inform people of their great variety of quality clothing, and stuck around afterwards for a meet and greet with his fans.
