Former NFL coach Herm Edwards previously spent over nine years playing in the NFL, but these days he’s recognized for his speaking and leadership skills around the world. Some of his primary topics include how to set the tone for success at the start, creating a legacy, and making a positive difference in the world. Some of his key points include being successful means preparing yourself in every way possible to achieve your goal, maintaining a sense of standards and integrity, and always create a plan for every dream. In addition to speaking, he also regularly appears on ESPN as one of their most popular NFL analysts.
The Fort Mammoth, New Jersey native attended both the University of California and San Diego State where he made a good name for himself as a player. After graduating from SDSU with a degree in criminal justice, he played for nine seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1977-1985. By 1987 he redirected his career into more of a coaching path and took on the role of a defensive backs coach for San Jose University for two years. Over the course of his coaching history, Edwards was in charge of directing the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but retired after a second stint with the Chiefs from 2006-2008.
Edwards’ focus used to be on the football field, but these days it’s inspiring others at every chance he gets. He is a great leader and motivator, which is why many companies both large and small seek him out to be a keynoter at their events.
