Nick LoweryNick Lowery was a place kicker in the NFL for nearly two decades and earned three Pro Bowl selections as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. During his career he was well-known for his game winning field goals, but more so for his work off the field. In 1993 he earned the NFL Players Association’s most prestigious humanitarian award, the Byron Whizzer White Award, and he has continued his good work in the community since his retirement.

On Thursday, November 20 Nick Lowery was on hand at the Tempe Undergraduate Student Government Devils Fight Back event in Tempe, Arizona to deliver a speech to those attending an event as a part of the national “No More” campaign, which is led by national and local groups speaking out against domestic and sexual violence.

“We are bringing in a guest speaker, former NFL kick Nick Lowery, who is part of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame, and he goes around the country and he talks about the issues on college campuses and the cutler and how e as students can create a safer climate here and prevent these issues from occurring in the future,” said Justin Zeien, Tempe USC health and wellness director.

In addition to traveling the country and speaking on college campuses he also devotes much of his time to the Nick Lowery Youth Foundation, which serves to help parents, students, coaches, school administrators and teachers change the culture of leadership against bullying by challenging varsity athletes across America to stand up for, sit with, understand and embrace marginalized students in the life-blood of the school.
