Former USC linebacker Thomas Williams helped the Trojans to two National Championships and four Rose Bowls during his days in Los Angeles and eventually went on to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL from 2008 to 2011. However, just when he thought things couldn’t get better, he suffered a neck injury that would end his football career forever.
What makes Williams special however, is that he is now wallowing his sorrow or sitting around the house doing nothing. In fact, he’s turned his setback into an astounding success. Although he can no longer impact lives through his play on the gridiron, he’s realized that he can have just as much of an impact off the field as a motivational speaker and author.
In addition to traveling the country and captivating audiences with his powerful message of overcoming adversity he has also recently published his autobiography, “Permission to Dream”, which traces his path to success and the obstacles he had to overcome to get there.
Williams now devotes his life to inspiring others and has spoken to a variety of audiences around the country, including college students, athletes and military personnel. He attributes his success both during his football career and post football careers to how he lives his life everyday, and to the morals and integrity he uses to make the decisions in his life.
