Tim Green Speaking FeeRetired NFL player, author, TV personality and attorney Tim Green visited North Olmsted Middle School in Ohio on Monday, November 4. During his appearance he spoke to students about the value of character and education and sign copies of his new book. “Education provides opportunities and choices,” Green told a gymnasium full of middle school students. “Reading is weightlifting for your brain. That’s my mantra. It makes us smarter so we do better in school. It also builds our character so we become what I call a true success, which is to have people in our lives who care about us.”

Green also urged the young students within the next 24 hours to do at least one good deed for a stranger, saying building a strong character is even more important to success than education.

Tim Green was an All-American football player at Syracuse University before he was selected in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons. From 1986 to 1994 he was a top NFL defensive player, and during that time he also earned his law degree and began his writing career. He has published 28 books, including suspends novels for adults and a series of books about sports for students. At least four of his books have made the New York Times best seller list. Green has worked as a television broadcaster for “Fox NFL Sunday,” “Good Morning America,” “Court TV,” and “A Current Affair.”
