Former NFL player Chris Draft played 13 seasons in the NFL for seven different teams, and although he was a journeyman throughout his career he always seemed to remain a leader no matter what jersey he put on. After his career in the NFL came to an end he set out on a different journey, helping others.
In 2011 Draft’s wife Keasha passed away after a long fight with lung cancer. Prior to her passing they set up an initiative called “Team Draft” as a part of the Chris Draft Family Foundation with the goal of providing hope, comfort and inspiration to patients, caregivers and healthcare providers of those who are battling lung cancer. As a part of his commitment to help others suffering with this disease he travels the country to provide inspiration to patients, families and caregivers as a part of Team Draft.
On Tuesday, November 18 Draft was in Greenville, South Carolina to provide the keynote speech for the inaugural lung cancer support group meeting at the St. Francis Cancer Center at the Millennium Campus in Greenville. The lung cancer support group will meet once a month and is open to all those suffering from lung cancer and their families.
