Former NFL player and Chicago Bears chaplain Ray McElroy has been named the featured speaker at Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Kidsfest. As part of his duties as featured speaker he will be visiting six area schools on September 23-24 and will provide an inspirational message about nutrition and fitness. The Kidsfest event will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 9:00 a.m. at Cumberland Junior High School in Toledo, Illinois.
McElroy played six seasons in the NFL as a cornerback with the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. After his retirement from football he served as the team chaplain for the Chicago Bears from 2008 to 2013. He now devotes his time to encouraging youth, young adults and families through his organization, A Ray of Hope on Earth.
