Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch recently appeared and spoke at a football camp in Spokane Valley on Saturday, March 18th. The Justin Britt Football Camp took place in two sessions, one at 9:00 a.m. and another at 1:00 p.m., which was split into two groups for kids aged 7-12 years old and 13-18 year olds. There has been a rumor that Lynch may make a return to the NFL, however, during his time at the camp he didn’t speak of it either way. The kids and Lynch had a good time with his visit, and it inspired them to play their best game that day.
The Oakland, California native was a four-sport athletic star during his high school years as he participated in football, track and field, baseball, and wrestling. Lynch ended up attending the University of California at Berkeley where he played for the Golden Bears in football. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft where he was selected as the 12th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills and stayed with the team for three seasons before going to play for Seattle, which is where his popularity skyrocketed in the last five years or so. Lynch was popular with his fans for his “Beast Mode” style of playing on the field, however, the sad news of his retirement broke out in early 2016.
Lynch recently visited a football camp in Spokane Valley to speak to a group of kids about life, football, and give them some overall motivating words. It was a lot of fun, but he did not indicate whether or not he is going to return to the pro playing fields.
