Former NFL running back Tim Worley has been penciled in as the keynote speaker for the 2015 Coaches 4 Character ACE Awards Banquet on May 19 in Greenville. The North Carolina native will be attending this banquet which is held every year to recognize students in the 8th and 12th grades from each school in the county who may not have been acknowledged previously for their achievements and good deeds. The event will take place at Greenville’s Redemption World Outreach Center which will begin at 6:30 p.m., and each winner will receive a medal. gift package, commemorative photo, and their school will earn a plaque featuring their student’s great successes.
Worley was the star player for him Georgia football team, and after he graduated he was selected in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent four years with the team and then one with the Chicago Bears, but after they released him in 1994, the running back decided just to retire from his sports career. These days, Worley lives in Huntsville, Alabama and spends a lot of his time giving motivational speeches to young people and helping them make good decisions in life.
The retired Steeler will be attending the Coaches 4 Character ACE Awards Banquet on May 19 to help the non-profit organization hosting the event recognize several outstanding kids. Worley feels that he will be able to give them some good advice on how to never give up on yourself, because he has learned a lot about the topic from his previous experiences playing professional and collegiate football. This year’s lucky achievers will be getting the recognition they deserve by one of the NFL’s former greats.
