chris nilan agentFormer Montreal Canadiens player and current radio host on Montreal’s Team 690 CKGM radio Chris Nilan will be in Peoria on Thursday as the keynote speaker at the 2nd annual Peoria Rivermen Alumni Association Face Off fundraiser.

Nilan played 688 NHL regular season games as a right-wing for the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers between 1980 and 1992. He won the Stanley Cup in 1986 with Montreal. Known as “Knuckles,” he was famous for his propensity to fight. The 2011 documentary film ‘The Last Gladiators’ by Alex Gibney tells the story of Nilan’s life and career.

He is a frequent guest speaker in schools, where he talks to students about bullying. Nilan will speak at the Alumni dinner, which is 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Lariat Steakhouse in Peoria. There will be autograph and picture sessions, and a silent auction of merchandise.
