The South Carolina native got his football career started by playing ball for the University of Oregon before entering the 1975 NFL Draft where he was selected in the 11th round by the New York Giants. Martin stayed with New York for the entire 13 years of his professional career and was known to be one of the league’s most feared rushers out there. Just 14 years after his retirement, Martin was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey in 2004. In addition to that, the former player is known for his 3,000 mile walk to raise funds to aid those who were hurt or working during the September 11th terrorists attacks in 2007.
Martin will be a part of the inaugural Orange County Leadership Prayer breakfast that is happening early next month at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor. This is not only a great opportunity to support a fantastic cause, but to be able to listen to one of the NFL’s historic great players.
