Craig Krenzel, the 3-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University, participated in the 2012 annual Buckeye Classic golf outing event which benefits the Marion County Humane Society. Ohio State football was represented nicely at the event as Craig Krenzel along with Brandon Joe, Aaron Pettrey, Matt Finkes, Andy Groom, Josh Huston, Jesse Kline, Justin Zwick and Tito Paul attended. The Buckeyes basketball players were not far behind as Jamie Skelton, Dave Merchant, Smith and Matt Terwilliger were on hand.

The benefit raised funds by allowing Marion Country Club members to bid on the celebrities to determine their golf partners for the day. This year’s bidding amounted to a record $2,050 which goes directly to the Marion County Humane Society. The Marion Country Club along with Ohio State athletics has demonstrated year after year  just how much they deeply care for animals.

Many of the Club Members in attendance were excited to see the Legendary Craig Krenzel. Craig helped guide Ohio State to their first National Championship in 32 years leading the Buckeyes to a perfect 14-0 season. Craig also was named Offensive MVP two years in a row. He finished his career with a 24-3 record and was drafted in the 5th round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He spent one year with the Cincinnati Bengals and is now a premiere speaker at events.
