Former Tennessee Safety Inquoris “Inky” Johnson paid a visit to the Greenbrier High School campus at the beginning of last month to talk to the students about overcoming obstacles and how to be the very best version of themselves at all times. The students listened intently and got to learn a thing or two about a person who was once one of the most likely athletes to make it to the pros and hear about what he did to get over that disappointment of it not happening due to a severe injury. It was a great experience for everyone who was there, including Johnson himself.
The former Volunteer player was at one point predicted to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft, but suffered a terrible injury to his arm that left it paralyzed. Instead of beating himself down with this new obstacle, Johnson went on to get a master’s degree in sports psychology at the University of Tennessee and travels to over 200 events per year to do speaking engagements. Despite not being able to play sports, Johnson still has a huge passion for the game of football and likes to interact with young athletes and help them out with inspiration any time he can.
Johnson traveled to Greenbrier High School on September 3rd to talk to a group of students about being the best they can be and overcoming those difficult times with a positive attitude.
