Former WWE Superstar Shawn Michaels took the time to visit some fans in Fort Hood, Texas on March 24 to meet with people and promote his new book called “Wresting for My Life”. Quite a few people showed up and formed a line that went around the Clear Creek Base Exchange for an opportunity to meet the famous WWF wrestler and to get his autograph. Some of those who attended the event were star struck as they grew up watching Michaels in the ring, and Michaels felt equally excited to do this kind of event. He made a comment that since his days wrestling are behind him, this is now his job and he really enjoys getting to meet his fans and write about his former career. In his new book, Michaels discusses his career, faith, and family so that the readers have a chance to get to know him as a person instead of a television personality.
The 11-time winner of the “Match of the Year” recognition was born in Marana, Arizona and now currently resides in San Antonio, Texas. He was also named the 2000-2009 Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Decade and won the Slammy Award 12 times in his career. Michaels is known for several of his signature moves such as the Backhand Chop, Inverted Atomic Drop and the Diving Double Axe Handle, which he used many times over his several fights through the years.
Fort Hood welcomed the visiting wrestler with open arms and he was happy to meet with the families who live on the military base, which is where he did his book promotion. Fans and servicemen brought their families to come shake hands with the popular WWF icon.
