Roy WhiteFormer New York Yankees all-star outfielder, Roy White, was a guest instructor at the Baseball World summer camp in Westport, Connecticut on Friday, July 25. White, now 70 years old, spent the afternoon at Wakeman Field teaching young campers how to play the game the right way, and provided some valuable insight into how to be successful on the diamond.

White made his debut with the Yankees in 1965 and played all 15 of his major league seasons in Yankee pinstripes. A career .271 hitter, White was named to two All-Star tams in 1969 and 1970, led the American league in runs with 104 in 1976, and led the Yankees to two World Series titles in 1977 and 1978. In 2004 he returned to the Yankees and served as an assistant coach for two seasons.

Recently, White established the Roy White Foundation, a charity aimed to help children and young adults in the New York area who would like to attend college, but do not have the financial resources to do so.
