Three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will be going to Vail, Colorado this Father’s Day weekend to be a part of the 43rd Annual Vail King of the Mountain volleyball tournament. The event itself will draw in over 650 different teams to the area to compete and this will likely be the only appearance made by May-Treanor this year. The clinic that the star athlete will be helping out with is going to be extra special with her presence this year and will give an opportunity to many junior players to learn a new thing or two. The camp will be broken up into two main parts with a session in the morning followed by a break for Q&A time with Treanor, and then another two hours of volleyball skills and development.
The Los Angeles native nicknamed “The Turtle” played volleyball for the Long Beach State 49ers of California State University for four years between 1995-1999 where she helped her team win two state championships. May-Treanor went on to complete in the Athens, Beijing, and London Summer Olympics to bring home the gold medal each time. She also played for the United States in the Beach Volleyball World Championships and won gold three times and silver once, so needless to say she is a big deal in the sport and widely recognized.
The 37 year old will be traveling to Vail, Colorado in mid-June on the weekend of Father’s Day to help out with this year’s Annual Vail King of the Mountain volleyball tournament and clinic to work with potential athletes. Attendees will not only get to have some fun in the sun, but acquire some tips from one of the best volleyball players on Earth.
