Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow Sr. has been announced as the guest speaker for the upcoming Annual Baron Club Awards Dinner that is happening on April 22 at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Tickets to get into the event are $65 per person for just the dinner or $100 for a ticket that includes dinner as well as a membership in the Baron Club. Winslow is expected to talk about his life achievements and difficulties in his career, that can be used from another perspective to motivate the younger generation. This dinner event is typically a big hit and is projected to do well this year too.
The St. Louis, Missouri native did not even play football until his teenage years during high school but ended up showcasing his talents enough to get accepted to and play for the University of Missouri. He entered the 1979 NFL Draft where he was selected in the first round as the 13th overall pick by the San Diego Chargers, with whom he played with until his retirement in 1987. In 1993, Winslow Sr. was ranked by The Sporting News’ as the 73rd out of 100 Greatest Football Players of all time. In addition to that, because he had played in five Pro Bowls, Winslow Sr. was elected to be in the Pro Football Hall of Game and College Football Hall of Fame as well.
