Hall of Famer Jerry Lucas is planning a visit to the Centenary United Methodist Church on June 28 to 29 in Granville, Ohio to give a few different talks on a number of subjects. Lucas will be having multiple sessions on the topics such as “Improving Family Relationships”, “Learning Made Fun and Easy”, and “Names and Faces Made Easy”. The sessions will mostly be on Sunday the 28th, but a good number of them will also be on that Monday the 29th. Even though Lucas is mostly known for his basketball skills, but he has proven to his fans that he is also a deep thinker and has awesome people skills.
Lucas is a native of Ohio and even went to Ohio State University where he started playing basketball as a power forward/center for the team. In the 1962 NBA Draft he was picked by the Cincinnati Royals with whom he worked with for six years. After that he went to the San Francisco Warriors for two year, and then to the New York Knicks where he stayed until his retirement from the sport in 1974. In addition to that, Lucas participated in the 1960 Rome Olympics where he played on behalf of the United States and even brought home a gold medal. The 1973 NBA Champion was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980, and he also became a writer after leaving his playing years behind him. One of his best selling books is called “The Memory Book” which he co-authored with Harry Lorayne, and it still does very well today.
Lucas will be speaking at the Centenary United Methodist Church at the end of this month and will be giving a number of talks to help people improve certain aspects of their lives.
