Icelandic athlete Katrin Tanja Davidsdottir just earned the title of the “fittest woman on Earth” on July 26 after dominating the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games in Los Angeles. Overall, Iceland faired very well at this year’s competition as they had one of their own take the gold medal in the women’s division and the bronze for the men’s, so needless to say the country is going ecstatic right now. In addition to that, Icelanders have won the women’s CrossFit games over two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012 with the outstanding performance of Annie Mist, who was not able to participate this year due to health reasons. Daviosdottir actually went into the final event as the third place holder, but due to some trouble for her competitor she was able to soar right into the first place slot.
Daviosdottir is just 22 years old and a 152 pounds, but she has shown remarkable talent in the gym and with her strength training. For back squats she is able to lift 115 kg and on a clean & jerk she has held her own with 98 kg. Even though she is still fairly young, she has been training for quite a while now and many people don’t doubt that she will come back for more in the next competition.
The 2015 Reebok CrossFit games came to a conclusion this Sunday and named 22 year old Icelander Katrin Tanja Daviosdottir as the grand champion, as she came through during her final stretch of the events to take the first place spot.
