Professional poker player Joe McKeehen won this year’s World Series of Poker main event. The 26 year old had kept the lead throughout the entire time he was at the final table and ended up taking home $7.68 million dollars in the end, which he says he has no plans on how to spend yet. McKeehen started out with just a hair over 63 million in chips on Sunday and was able to multiply that by at least six times by the time he claimed the throne on Tuesday. The 26 year old even managed to knock out some veteran players at the event such as Joshua Beckley, Patrick Chan and Neil Blumenfield.
The North Wales, Pennsylvania native went to Arcadia University and graduated with a degree in math but has been making most of his money by playing different gaming events. In 2010, McKeehen had won the Risk board game World Championship and in 2013 he won $174,147 playing the WSOP event that happened in Atlantic City, New Jersey. McKeehen won another big poker event in 2014 when he came in second place in the Monster Stack event at that year’s World Series of Poker with a total earnings of over $820,000.
McKeehen brought his top game to the tables this year at the World Series Of Poker event and managed to knock out some of his best competition. He managed to win over $7 million dollars and is going to take some time to figure out how he will spend it.
