Philadelphia Eagles Jon Dorenbos has been announced as the keynote speaker for The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s 149th Annual Dinner that’s happening on March 29, 2017 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The event is sponsored by PNC Bank, and Dorenbos is thought to be a huge draw to get people to attend the dinner. He will be giving a talk that puts an emphasis on the importance of choice and is expected to discuss one of the biggest struggles that he has been facing in his lifetime: the brutal murder of his mother that was committed by his father. As a result, he now speaks about how to choose to go the high road and set goals to accomplish as a means of overcoming all the obstacles that we face on a day to day basis.
The Humble, Texas native started playing sports in his early teen years in Huntington, California, where he lived with his aunt and uncle after suffering a great family tragedy. In High School he excelled in multiple sports including football, baseball, and hockey, and even earned all-league honors in both football and baseball. He later on went to attend college at the University of Texas in El Paso where he earned a degree in business and also played as the snapper for their football team. Although he went undrafted in 2003, he was signed as a snapper by the Buffalo Bills with whom he played with for a year before going to the Tennessee Titans, and eventually the Philadelphia Eagles. He is also a professional magician and has performed in Las Vegas, NV.
Dorenbos will be the keynote speaker for next year’s 149th Annual Dinner that’s being hosted by The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce on March 29, 2017.
