Two-time NBA Champion and former Houston Rockets guard Kenny Smith has been announced as the keynote speaker for this year’s Nevada’s 48th Annual Governor’s Dinner that is happening on July 8th. The dinner will take place at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City, Nevada and will be hosted by Danyelle Musselman, the former sports reporter from ESPN, Fox Sports, and the NFL Network. Tickets to get in will cost $350 per person, $3,500 for a full table of 10 people, or a limited amount of VIP tickets that cost $500 that give those access to a special VIP event that begins at 5 p.m. The family-style dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and is going to be provided by the Eldorado Hotel Casino.
The Queens, New York native played college basketball for North Carolina before joining the NBA in 1987 when he was drafted to the Sacramento Kings. He played for a number of franchises including the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Denver Nuggets before retiring in 1997 and joining Turner Sports broadcasting in 1998. The 2010 NBA Shooting Stars champion also participated with team USA in the FIBA World Championship, from which they brought home the gold medal.
Smith will be speaking at 48th Annual Governor’s Dinner in Nevada next month and it is sure to bring in a large crowd to see a former great who once owned the basketball courts he stepped foot on.
