Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre returned home to Green Bay to get inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame on July 18 at Lambeau, and he was completely stunned to see that thousands of fans attended the event and cheered him on endlessly as he came down that tunnel to the field one more time. Favre was very humbled and told the audience that he could not have done it without them, his fans, and is very thankful to the team for such a great honor. Even the president of the Green Bay Packers was there to welcome Favre back into the stadium that he helped make a legacy in the 1990s. People were chanting from the stands so loud that it just left the quarterback speechless.
The two-time NFC Champion and Super Bowl XXXI Champ was born in Mississippi, and was even given a scholarship to attend Southern Mississippi for his college education. He entered the 1991 NFL Draft and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons only to switch over to the Green Bay Packers the following year, with him he played with for an incredible 15 years. After leaving the Packers he did a year with the New York Jets and then two more with the Minnesota Vikings before retiring for good in 2010. He is one of the icons of the NFL and is known internationally for his great skills on the field and determination to help his team win. His famous number four jersey has also been officially retired by Green Bay, as no one else could ever replace the star.
Favre returned back to Lambeau this month to receive his induction into the Green Bay Hall of Fame, and couldn’t have been more speechless by the crowd that turned out. Just when he thought that he might not have any fans left with some of the turbulence surrounding his departure from the team, he was proven wrong in the best way possible.
