This Sunday, Marvin Harrison along with seven others were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was a surprise to no one that Harrison and the other seven men, including Brett Favre and former owner Eddie Debartolo, were inducted. All of the men inducted this year have a long list of personal and team accomplishments that most do not ever reach. Harrison put together a string of seasons that left everyone wondering when not if he would reach the Hall of Fame.
Marvin Harrison, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, played his college football at the University of Syracuse where he played with another NFLer in Donavan McNabb for one season. Harrison was selected with the 19 pick of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Harrison spent all 13 years of his NFL career with the Colts and Peyton Manning. Along with making the Pro Bowl eight times in 13 years, Harrison also won a Super Bowl with the Colts in 2006. Of course with a Hall of Fame induction there are many personal accomplishments that Harrison holds including being part of the 10,000 yard and 1,000 reception clubs. Along with that, Harrison is third all-time in receptions, fifth all-time in receiving touchdowns, and seventh all-time in receiving yards. Although Harrison was extremely productive during his career, he is probably most well-known for his quiet and respect for the game style of play.
Marvin Harrison was inducted into the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame this Sunday. Along with the other seven men, Harrison’s induction was well deserved. The event was once again amazing and had a great showing of sports celebrities and legends of the game. The Hall of Fame induction, as always, gave fans the chance to appreciate the play of some recent legends of the game.
