Miami Heat Chris Andersen made a guest appearance on one of HBO’s newest series “Ballers” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Even though the premise of the show revolves around football and NFL players, it was a bit of a surprise to see the basketball icon appear in it too. In the episode Andersen’s role was dancing with one of the main character’s ex-girlfriends, and a confrontation with friction ensue. The memorable line from this scene is when the character leaves Anderson and his ex on the dance floor while telling him, “LeBron did the right thing about going back to Cleveland”.
The California native started out playing basketball for a junior college, Blinn College, and was told that he had the talent to make it to the pros. With the help of a school coach he was able to join a couple exhibition games and was offered a spot on a Chinese team where he played for two years. Between the years of 2000 and 2001 he bounced around between several International Basketball League teams until being called up by the Denver Nuggets to play professionally. After four seasons he left to join the Miami Heat where he still plays today. The “Birdman” is known by the nickname due to his crazy hairstyles, bright colors, and his numerous tattoos that cover around 75 percent of his body.
Anderson appeared in a scene on HBO’s football themed show and it was a fun surprise to see another Florida athlete on the screen for the cameo.
