MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer was the keynote speaker at the 17th annual LifePath & Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Thanksgiving Benefit and Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, November 26. The event took place at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania and was attended by more than 600 people who came to support LifePath’s mission and hear Palmer speak.
During his speech he took the opportunity to talk about what he and his wife went through when their son was diagnosed with autism. He told the crowd how much they wished they had more people like those at LifePath to help them understand what was ahead of them, and how much the organization helps those who are going through the same situation today.
Palmer also talked about his career and the current state of the Baltimore Orioles, the team he played 19 seasons with from 1965 to 1984. During his time with the Orioles he was a six time All-Star, helped Baltimore to three World Series championships and won three Cy Young Awards. In 1990 Palmer’s career was honored with induction into the National Memorial Baseball Hall of Fame.
