Tim Tebow KeynoteWherever he goes, people flock to see him. So when Tim Tebow made an appearance as the keynote speaker at the Central Illinois Fellowship of Christian Athletes Home Team Banquet at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield Illinois on Sunday, May 4, 2014, the place was packed.

The annual event in Springfield has attracted big football names in the past to come speak, such as Bobby Bowden and Tony Dungy, but the crowd Tebow drew on Sunday night something many had not seen before. Nearly 2,000 people filled the main floor of the convention center and hundreds more were scattered in the mezzanine level to see him speak.

“This is easily our largest crowd, and that obviously has to do with Tim Tebow,” said Kevin Elliot, state director of FCA in Illinois. “Tim lives out the vision and mission of FCA. We’re blessed to get him.”

Money raised by the event will help fund FCA operations in central Illinois and summer camp scholarships for area teens. The FCA works with coaches and athletes to share the message of Jesus Christ, a message the Tim Tebow is outspoken about both in his professional and personal life.

Tebow currently serves as an expert college football analyst at ESPN and continues to pursue his career as a quarterback in the National Football League. From the overwhelming show of support for this event and the huge amount of people that showed up to see him speak, it is clear that he is one of the most sought after motivational speakers on the circuit today
