One NBA legend helped the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement raise some money last month. Nate Archibald was the speaker at their Executives Law & Legends Breakfast of Champions. The breakfast was held in New York City at the Harvard Club. Archibald talked about the importance of community during his presentation. Fellow retired NBA star Otis Birdsong also spoke at the event. This past weekend, NOBLE held a golf tournament as well that raised money for their National Scholarship Program and The Law & Your Community program.
Archibald was a seven-time All-Star during his 14-year career. The second round pick of the Cincinnati Royals in 1970 would quickly leave an indelible mark on the game. In his third season, Archibald became the only NBA player to ever lead the league in scoring and assists in a single season. Later in his career, he became an essential piece that helped the Boston Celtics build a dynasty. From 1979-1982, the Celtics boasted the league’s best record and Archibald won the only championship of his career in 1981. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
